SUCCESS! And now my "PHONY" Award Acceptance Speech

So in light of the TONY Awards happening this weekend, I thought it would be appropriate for me to thank a few people that made my theatrical debut this past Thursday at the Nuyorican Poet's Cafe a sucess.

These feelings of joy, accomplishment, and appreciation are keeping me GOING this weekend!

Thusday night was my very first on-stage performance; I guess I’ve come a long way since playing Anita in my eighth grade class’s version of West Side Story. Not only was I grateful to be selected to play Suzy in the incredily funny show, "Please Hold" by the immaculate Jenny Saldana, but I was so privileged to perform on the legendary stage of the Nuyorican Poet’s CafĂ©.

It really was an out-of-body experience! Lastly, and most importantly, I am so very thankful to have such a wonderful a support system of friends. I have to honest and say that I was pretty cool and collected pre-show (kinda), UNTIL I heard my name being chanted by the audience before we came out! LOL That’s when I almost lost it. I started tearing back stage because I was so overwhelmed. You have to understand, that we don’t see the audience until we step foot on the stage, so I didn’t really know what to expect.

Thank G-d for the stage lights, because once I step foot on the stage, I was blinded by them and couldn’t really see out in the audience LOL.

So in conclusion, from the top and bottom of my heart - THANK YOU to all those who have supported me, and who are sticking with me for this ride...

And now, here's a clip from the play for thse of you that missed it this time around:
